Carolyn Tabarini will cover basic sewing machine maintenance, machine troubleshooting, review of necessary feet, and thread and needle basics. Further discussion will cover the dropping of feed dogs on the machine, stitch length, machine tension, proper posture, and preparing your materials for success. Students will start on a small practice piece, marking if necessary, and becoming comfortable with their machines to handle free motion quilting. When ready, the student will move on to the workshop project, a pre-printed panel supplied by the instructor. Instructor will also provide a variety of threads in various weights and colors for use in class.
